JACK MANLEY - WOODEN BOATS

"Building wooden boats using both traditional and modern methods, inspired by the beauty of form and function found in classic small craft designs of the past. Both stock and custom builds to new or traditional designs".

Some past projects include new builds of a Swampscott Dory, Sharpie, Touring Kayaks, Nutshell Prams, and repair work on numerous small craft. Current work in the shop includes complete rebuilding of a 63 year old Friendship Sloop, and building of the first in a series of Railbird skiffs, a type popular on the Chesapeake Bay at the turn of the century, and still a wonderful design for exploring the salt marshes or your favorite backwater. Two upcoming projects are the building of a Wee Lassie canoe, from a design by turn of the century builder J. H. Rushton of Canton N.Y., and a Delaware Ducker, a lapstrake rowing/sailing craft reminiscent of a Adirondack Guideboat, both boats to be offered as stock boats.

Please feel free to call or stop in to discuss your building or repair needs, or just talk boats.
